Usage Statistics is a Data Catalog feature that tracks how often database entities are read, written to, or modified in the Business Intelligence Database (BIDB).
Key Benefits:
Provides visibility into data consumption patterns
Identifies most frequently accessed entities
Enables resource optimization and impact analysis
Creates audit trails for governance
Database Support:
Microsoft SQL & Oracle: Requires database auditing to be manually enabled
Snowflake: Works automatically without additional configuration
How It Works: The Entity Usage Worker job collects usage metrics from the audit database and stores them in the Entity Usage Statistic View within the BIDB, where they can be analyzed using third-party BI tools.
Click the Usage Statistics tile.

The Usage Statistics page opens with the following additional options to configure data profiling.
Configure the path to: /var/opt/mssql/data - you will need to map the path / volume.

Additionally, you can also view certain usage-related properties in the Properties panel of the Summary tab in Data Canvas. The properties displayed may vary depending on the selected data asset.
